THERAPY FOR TEENS

I’M CONTACTING YOU FOR A TEEN I CARE ABOUT

It hurts to watch your child struggle emotionally. If you find yourself feeling unsure about how to help or what to do, therapy is an option. Therapy provides a safe space for your child to open up and process difficult situations associated with growing up. In therapy, your child can learn to communicate his or her feelings appropriately and develop skills to help cope with difficult situations now and later in life.

A therapist can also help parents understand their teen’s behaviors and provide ideas for how to respond in a constructive way. Tamara is committed to supporting parents who are considering getting their teen into therapy, which is why she offers a complimentary 20-minute introductory session with teens via phone or in person.

Trust is crucial in the therapeutic relationship, and it is important that teen clients feel they can share openly in their sessions. General themes and strategies for supporting your child may be discussed with you, but details from the sessions will not. If a minor’s safety ever comes into question, parents and/or guardians are the first to know.
